Is this man Riccardo Muti?
Last night we attended a musical-play by Kurt Weill. I am certain that Riccardo Muti, the former conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, was sitting a mere 10 feet away from us. David is not so certain. Readers, please weigh in. Is the man in the photos below Riccardo Muti?

Add one vote to the "not so certain" side. The hair, however, certainly is a dead ringer as viewed from the rear. By the way, which one of the Skeels was taking pictures in a concert? ;-)
Sharon the Paperazzi! We think it's possible and certianly you did this during intermission:) What fun I am having reading of your adventures - keep them coming!

Well, the first photo looks very much like the famous Maestro but the other two are a bit doubtful. Muti has classic Italian features so it could be him or it could not be...
By the way, how did you get away with taking a photo at a performance, and obviusly without the subject being aware of your activity? You're pretty good at that!

After comparing your pictures with pictures of him on the internet. It certainly appears to be him.
Sharon, I work with your brother, and since we spent five weeks in Italy during the last couple of years, he gave me the link to your blog. The Riccardo Muti question certainly got my attention - I'm quite a fan of his, and saw him live conducting the Philadelphians. Check out this link: http://www.sonyclassical.com/gfx/artists/muti.jpg - I agree it's him. Love your slice of Italian life.
Yes and yes. Or it could be Professor Snape.
